ORMOC, Philippines – Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez shakes hands with Rod Poblete, exercise
planner at U.S. Marines Corps Forces, Pacific, during a Basic Medical First Responder’s Course held at the
Ormoc City District Hospital, Ormoc, Republic of the Philippines, July 5, 2016. The course was part of a
three-day comprehensive health engagement between the U.S. and the Philippines designed to provide
non-medics with the knowledge to respond to incidents within the community. Attendees included
members of the AFP, Philippine National Police, City Health Officials, Ormoc City Rescue and Ormoc
District Hospital staff.
