Pfc. Mitchell Robertson (left), Pfc. Christopher Thrasher (center) and Sgt. Julio Montoya, all assigned to Company B, 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor, 1st Advise and Assist Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, United States Division - Center, were awarded the Army Commendation Medal April 8 for their vigilance. Using elevated camera systems, the three Soldiers disrupted insurgents who were placing an improvised explosive device on the side of a road, possibly saving the lives of a squad conducting a dismounted patrol on that road.
