Col. Donald R. West, the incoming commander of the 44th Medical Brigade, accepts the colors of the brigade from Lt. Gen. Frank G. Helmick, commanding general, XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg. This is not West's first time at the 44th. He commanded the 86th Combat Support Hospital, a subordinate unit, during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
