Maj. Will Rose, 12th Flying Training Wing BASH program manager and T-6A Texan II flight safety officer, spots a white-winged dove while performing bird harassment and depredation activities at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph July 13, 2016. The white-winged dove is the top threat of the bird population on base because it tends to fly in flocks at the same altitude as aircraft on the runway. A bird as small as 4 ounces can cause aircraft to lose an engine.
