160817-N-NF288-012 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 17, 2016) Sailors assigned to Air Department raise the aircraft elevator safety nets in preparation to go underway for Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) testing aboard the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). These safety nets help prevent people from falling overboard from the aircraft elevators. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
