ARABIAN GULF (Aug. 16, 2016) The Iraqi navy Al Basra-class offshore support vessel Al Basra (OSV 401), left, and Swift Boat (P-311) transit the Arabian Gulf alongside a rigid hull inflatable boat launched from the guided-missile destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55) during a Commander, Task Force 55 bilateral exercise. The U.S. participates in bilateral exercises with partner nations routinely to build and strengthen interoperability throughout the region. Commander, Task Force 55 controls surface forces including U.S. Navy patrol crafts and U.S. Coast Guard patrol boats throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
