Petty Officer 1st Class Ricardo A. Blake, hospital corpsman, a Naval Medical Center San Diego decontamination team member, assesses facial burns and abrasions on the face of Hospital Corpsman Seaman Patrick T. Mesey during the annual statewide Golden Guardian drill. The purpose of the drill is to exercise NMCSD's response to treating patients in a radiation contaminated mass casualty scenario. The staff responded to more than 100 simulated patients playing various levels of trauma.
