Members of 3D Civil Affairs Group (3D CAG), a subordinate command of Force Headquarters Group (FHG), pose for a photo with their staff counterparts during Ulchi Freedom Guardian 2016 (UFG 16) at Camp Hansen, Okinawa. During UFG 16, 3D CAG Marines served both on Okinawa and the peninsula.
Exercise UFG 16 is a United Nations Command, U.S. Combined Forces Command, and United States Forces Korea annual joint/combined command post exercise. The exercise highlights the longstanding and enduring partnership and friendship between the United States and South Korea, and the nations’ combined commitment to the defense of the ROK and continued peace and security in the region. Exercise UFG 16 continues until September 2, and features approximately 25,000 U.S. service members, along with service members from nine other nations: Australia, Canada, Columbia, Denmark, France, Italy, Philippines, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
Senior Republic of Korea Marine officer, Colonel Lin (second row, center left), and Colonel John Church, Jr., Commanding Officer of 3D CAG (second row, center right), are pictured with ROK Marines, U.S. Army and U.S. Navy personnel, and service members from France and Australia.
