160914-N-WA993-141 PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 14, 2016) Aviation Electronics Technician Airman Jenn Afurong, from New York, washes a pan in the forward deep sink of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). “The deep sink water is never cooler than 110 degrees Fahrenheit,” said Afurong. “It’s hot and sweaty here, but it’s necessary work.” Ronald Reagan, the Carrier Strike Group Five (CSG 5) flagship, is on patrol in the Philippine Sea supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
