Lt. Cmdr. Harry Brodeen, a native of Chester, N.J., is assigned to USS Philippine Sea homported in Mayport, Fla. The ship, which recently completed an extensive overhaul of the combat and engineering control systems, docked for Fleet Week New York before continuing to make preparation for an upcoming Arabian Gulf deployment to defend against those who would threaten our nation's interests. Brodeen, who is the ship's Combat Systems Officer, is the son of Harry and Joan Brodeen, attended Mendham High School and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Approximately 3,000 Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsman are participating in the 23rd Fleet Week New York, which is taking place through June 2. Fleet Week has been New York City's celebration of the sea services since 1984.
