Alabama Gov. Bob Riley thanks Alabama National Guard Soldiers for their efforts to build a barrier on Dauphin Island, Ala., to guard against oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill making it to the island's beaches. Alabama Guard members have been taking part in a variety of missions relating to the oil spill and have most recently been working with local officials to ensure that residents that may be eligible to file loss claims with BP get the paperwork needed to do so.
