An Iraqi Army soldier helps translate while Cpl. Nigel Gardner, assigned to 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5, speaks to a local Fallujan about an expired badge at an entry control point. The checkpoints are manned by Iraqi Forces and Marines to control who and what gets into Fallujah. Some checkpoints see upwards of 1,000 vehicles per day, but every vehicle is searched for weapons and every person checked for proper identification to get into the city.
