A Marine CH-53 Super Stallion crewman with VMM-365, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit communicates with the aircraft’s pilot during a survey mission of potential beach landing sites and airfields for upcoming humanitarian and disaster relief operations to assist the Republic of Haiti following Hurricane Matthew, a Category IV storm that passed through the area causing flooding, destroying vital infrastructure within the country and displacing Haitian local nationals. A helicopter crew chief continuously inspects the aircraft and surrounding area for safety concerns and ensures all passengers and gear are transported safely during flight operations.
