Staff Sgt. Christopher Bain digs up dirt from the site where he was injured by indirect fire in 2004. Bain along with ten other wounded warriors came out to the site June 13, 2010, as they all participated in Operation Proper Exit. The eleven wounded warriors spent the week, June 12-16, touring Iraq, visiting the sites where they had been injured, and taking time to meet with troops to talk about their experiences. The operation provided the opportunity for injured veterans to also see the overall progress that has been made in country since their deployed service. The goal is to provide closure for their traumatic experience and give them the chance to exit Iraq on their own terms.
