Silas Thomas, from Colebrook, Ohio, a bulk fuel specialist with Bulk Fuel Company, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, inspects one of the 600-gallon-per-minute pumps while it draws water from Lake O’Neill to take to the 200,000 gallon storage site during the bulk fuel Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation on Camp Pendleton, Calif., Oct. 12, 2016. By using water from Lake O’Neill, the Marines were able to simulate the process of pumping fuel from ship to shore in an expeditionary environment.
