"Today, this patch symbolizes that you've been deployed. You now have the experience to go forward and do great things," said Capt. Sy Rice during the unit's Combat Patch Ceremony held on June 1. Rice is the 105th Military Police Battalion Headquarters Company Commander. The 105th is a National Guard unit from North Carolina. The unit arrived Iraq in April 2010 to take over the responsibilities of the Cropper Detention Facility transfer. The 105th is a subordinate unit to the 49th MP Brigade Tactical Command Post.
