YOKOSUKA, Japan - Sailors man the rails of the Navy's only forward-deployed
aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), as the ship returns to
Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka after completing a scheduled
three-month patrol in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. During the patrol,
Ronald Reagan participated in exercises Valiant Shield, Invincible Spirit
and Keen Sword, designed to enhance joint military operations with partner
nations throughout the region. The crew also completed its Unit Level
Training Assessment-Sustainment and Maintenance and Material Management
Assessment. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides
a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime
interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. (U.S.
