24 MEU Marines conduct ship-to-shore drills

Marines with Kilo Co., 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment move to their designated amphibious assault vehicles in the well deck of USS Carter Hall (LSD-50) for a ship-to-shore drill Dec. 2, 2016 to Onslow Beach, North Carolina during Amphibious Ready Group Marine Expeditionary Unit Exercise. The ‘splash’ drill allows the AAV operators to practice movements on and off ship and the infantrymen to sharpen their skills in the maritime environment. ARGMEUEX is a part of the 24th MEU training cycle and is preparing Marines and Sailors for a deployment early next year. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Matthew Callahan)
