Maj. Jennifer Orton sits at the controls of an HC-130P/N King combat-search-and-rescue aircraft on Patrick Air Force Base's flightline where she is 920th Rescue Wing's first female pilot. She has logged approximately 3,000 hours of flight time throughout her Air Force career and has deployed multiple times to places like Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. Orton began her career in the Air Force as an aircraft load master at Pope Field, North Carolina, where she was tasked with loading, unloading and balancing aircraft cargo.
