In 2017, the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division will celebrate its centennial anniversary. The 34th "Sandstorm" Infantry Division was organized in 1917 during World War I and consisted of Guardsmen from Minnesota, the Dakotas, Iowa and Nebraska. Today, the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division provides command and control for 23,000 Citizen-Soldiers in eight different states. The Year of the Red Bull will culminate in a celebration honoring past and present Red Bulls on Military Appreciation Day at the 2017 Minnesota State Fair. (Minnesota National Guard graphic by Tech.
