170209-N-BL637-087 PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 09, 2017) An E-2C Hawkeye from the “Black Eagles” of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 113 takes off from the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) flight deck, during a change-of-command ceremony for VAW-113. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend the command and control functions of U.S. 3rd Fleet.
