Afghan civilians exit their vehicles and gather around an interpreter and U.S. Army Maj. Jonathon Price, Civil Affairs team leader with the Ghazni Provincial Reconstruction Team Sept. 13 along Highway 1 in Qarah Bagh District, Afghanistan. The East Windsor, N.J., native and his team, along with security forces, dismounted from their vehicles to stop traffic and explain that the PRT was evaluating and documenting holes in the road caused by improvised explosive devices. PRT members had to redirect traffic off the road for a few minutes at each IED hole they passed. Once the drivers learned why they were stopped, they were eager to oblige the PRT’s road block.
