On Sept, 28 Lance Cpl. Farah M. Sainvil, an administration clerk, and Gunnery Sgt. Nelson T. Hernandez, a maintenance chief, stand outside their battalion headquarters at Camp Fallujah, Iraq. The Marine reservists are deployed with Headquarters Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 5-2, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward). They are also New York City police officers. "I feel that our being out here is necessary," said Sainvil. "I'm sure that those people who passed away on 9-11 are looking down on us right now and are grateful." Both Hernandez and Sainvil joined Headquarters Company from a reserve unit out of Brooklyn, N.Y. Combat Logistics Battalion 5-2, 1st Marine Logistics Group is deployed with I MEF (FWD) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq (MNF-W) to develop the Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi Reconstruction.
