U.S. soldiers with "Motars" Platoon, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment provides security at a joint Iraqi Army and Iraq Department of Border Enforcement vehicle traffic checkpoint in Maysan Province, Iraq, Aug. 30. U.S. soldiers from 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment and 4th Squadron, Charlie Troop, 10th Cavalry Regiment conducted reconnaissance to advise and assist Iraqi Army and Department of Border Enforcement in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
