Lisa Boyer, mother of Petty Officer 3rd Class Alec Hanna, information systems technician, fires a .50-caliber Browning machine gun during a live-fire exercise as safety observer Petty Officer 2nd Class Benjamin Shuffain, gunner's mate, looks on aboard the amphibious command ship USS Mount Whitney during Tiger Cruise 2010. The Tiger Cruise provided an opportunity for family and friends of sailors and Civil Service Mariners to share the experience of being underway on a Navy ship. Mount Whitney is operating in the Mediterranean region in preparation to return to homeport in Gaeta, Italy.
