FORWARD OPERATING BASE GERBER, Kuwait (April 14, 2017) — U.S. Marines assigned to India Co., 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), huddle inside a small compound before clearing several more like it while on a patrol during forward operating base (FOB) drills at FOB Gerber, April 14. The Marines are in Kuwait for a sustainment training evolution. The 24th MEU, part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
