    FORWARD OPERATING BASE GERBER, Kuwait (April 15, 2017)— U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Brendan VanDalinda, a machine gunner with Kilo Co., 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, patrols through a sand storm with his squad during forward operating base drills outside FOB Gerber, Kuwait April 15. The Marines are in Kuwait for a sustainment training evolution. The 24th MEU is currently deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and free flow of commerce in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
