A line of soil samples fills a wall at a well job site at Marine Corps Forward Operating Base Camp Hansen, Oct. 1. Marines and sailors with 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, have been able to witness Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Five Seabees’ workmanship first hand in Marjah, where they’ve begun installing wells at 2/9 outposts here to improve water access and availability . The Seabees draw soil samples every five feet in order to monitor its composition during the initial drilling phase.
