    USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76)

Petty Officer 3rd Class Brad Jacobs, an aerographer's mate from Tiffin, Ohio, (left) ties a radio sonde to a weather balloon, with help from Petty Officer 2nd Class Jonathan Cole, an aerographer's mate from San Diego, on the fantail of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The ship’s Aerographer’s Mates use radio sondes to collect meteorological data such as wind, temperature and barometric pressure, which is then used by the entire Ronald Reagan strike group. Ronald Reagan is currently underway conducting tests and evaluations in preparation for an upcoming deployment. (Photo by: Petty Officer 3rd Class Dylan McCord)
