Soldiers with 1st Battalion, 138th Infantry Regiment of the Missouri Army National Guard based out of Kansas City, Mo. seek cover and concealment after dismounting a UH-1 Huey. The Soldiers were starting the initial phase of a three-day field training exercise in northern Japan working with the 26th Infantry Regiment, Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force, in a simulated battle scenario. Similar training between U.S. and Japanese soldiers has been taking place for 13 years enforcing a 50-year old security agreement between the two allies.
