Cpl. John Brody competes with an M249 squad automatic weapon, May 18, 2017, at the Australian Army Skills at Arms Meeting, in Puckapunyal, Australia. The meet brought together 20 countries for two weeks to compete, learn and build better alliances. The service members competed in more than 60 shooting matches with a variety of weapons, including the pistol, rifle and machine gun. Brody, a native of Springfield, Virginia, is a rifleman with 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment. The battalion is deployed to Australia with Marine Rotational Force Darwin.
