Michael Zerbonia, the Assistant Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard and Commander of the Illinois Army National Guard, interviews with Cymphanie Sherman, a reporter with central Illinois-based WICS-TV, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois. Zerbonia was the keynote speaker at the Lincoln Monument Association’s “A Spirited Stroll” on May 27 in Oak Ridge Cemetery, where President Abraham Lincoln is interned. The general spoke of Lincoln’s service during the Black Hawk War in the Illinois Militia, now known as the Illinois National Guard, as well as the service of many other Army National Guard Soldiers buried in the cemetery with their famous fellow Guardsman and Commander-in-Chief.
