William Beaumont Army Medical Center’s Emergency Department is implementing new solutions to decrease wait times for beneficiaries including: first-look nurse at check in to triage patients and identify more critical cases, referring active-duty Soldiers back to primary care managers for non-emergent care, and informing beneficiaries of the TRICARE Urgent Care Pilot Program which allows non-active-duty service members with TRICARE Prime to utilize TRICARE-approved urgent care facilities without a referral for urgent care matters, two times per fiscal year.
