Students and faculty from the University of New Haven, located in West Haven, Connecticut, listen as 1st Lt. Arthur Jobe, an officer with the U.S. Army’s Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, explains traffic control point training at the Yavoriv Combat Training Center on the International Peacekeeping and Security Center, near Yavoriv, Ukraine on June 14.
The trip was part of the students’ studies regarding the Eastern Front during World War II and the current conflict in Ukraine. U.S., Polish, Lithuanian, and Ukrainian representatives from the Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine, an international coalition dedicated to professionalizing the Ukrainian army, briefed the students on military cooperation at the Yavoriv CTC, Ukraine’s first modern training center modeled on NATO standards.
