Aaron Yoshimura, a squad leader with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, briefs his squad on the ‘Recon, Isolation, Secure a foothold and Seize the objective’ process for his Marines during Exercise Bougainville 1-17.2 aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, June 17, 2017. The unit went over procedures and the basics of their roles as infantrymen for Exercise Bougainville, a two-week training exercise to enhance their lethality and effectiveness as a force in readiness. Kilo Co. conducted Military Operation in Urban Terrain training in which Marines practiced clearing buildings, wrapping tourniquets on simulated wounds, weapon drills and lessons on urban tactics.
