John Goss, director of the Wyoming Military Department Veterans Museum, places U.S. Army Tech. Sgt. Charles F. Carey Jr.’s Medal of Honor in a display at the Joint Force Readiness Center, in Cheyenne, Wyo., Dec. 15. The private ceremony and formal dedication of the new display honored Carey’s achievements and heroism during combat, in Rimling, France, during World War II. Carey’s wife, Eva, now deceased, lived in Cheyenne. Their sons Richard Carey, now of Los Angles, and Ronald Carey, now of Salt Lake City, presented the medal on behalf of their mother.
