Soldiers with the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, prepare for their final inspections before leaving for their one-year deployment to Afghanistan. The event, held at Sadowski Field House at Fort Knox, Dec. 28, was to ensure soldiers had all necessary personal equipment before traveling. The 3/1 IBCT is the largest unit to deploy to a combat zone from Fort Knox since World War II.
