BREMERTON, Wash. (June 30, 2017) - Rear Adm. John Tammen, commander, Submarine Group 9, presents Lt. Andrew Lawrence, assigned to the Gold crew of the guided missile submarine USS Ohio (SSGN 726), with the Navy and Marine Corps Medal during an awards ceremony at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. Lawrence received the award for saving his shipmate’s life when he nearly drowned during a snorkeling trip while the boat was moored in Apra Harbor, Guam. (U.S. Navy photo by Jeremy Moore/released)
