After Marines took control of a bridge near their new patrol base in Sangin, Dec. 23, 2010, Marines constantly scanned the area for enemy activity. The platoon was tasked with the operation of moving into the area to establish a new patrol base. After receiving enemy contact and enemy fire, they reached their objective point and secured the area.
