Petty Officer 1st Class Scott Lewis, a construction mechanic of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3's Convoy Security Element directs a large tractor trailer out of the Seabee camp so that it can line up outside in preparation for a convoy Jan. 23. The tractor trailer was carrying an excavator that will be used by a large team of Seabees as they build a road and a combat outpost for US and NATO forces in order to increase stability and safety of the region. The Seabees of NMCB 3 left early this morning to conduct this mission. NMCB 3 is an expeditionary element of US Naval Forces providing construction, engineering and security services in support of national strategy, naval power projection, humanitarian assistance and contingency operations.
