Ahmed Daher Djama, Djibouti's senior naval and coast guard officer, trains on climbing a quick-access ladder during visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) training near Djibouti, East Africa. Djama, along with Ali Elmi Bouh, Djibouti's head of intelligence, spent the week with USS Oak Hill's (LSD 51) VBSS team training on close quarters combat, intelligence gathering, mission planning, weapons handling and team management. This training is conducted as part of Exercise Image Nautilus. Oak Hill is currently underway as part of the Bataan Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) which is on a regularly-scheduled deployment conducting Maritime Security Operations (MSO) in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operation as well as complimenting the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations.
