At the annual Combined Federal Campaign awards ceremony, held at the Pentagon Jan. 31, Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn III presents a check for $17,200,000 to Rene Acosta, president and CEO of Global Impact, the firm that manages the CFC program. Even in these difficult economic times, the Department of Defense came through for the over 4,000 charities represented in the CFC, exceeding it projected goal and increasing the size of the average individual contribution.
