ASH-SHUAYBAH PORT, Kuwait (Feb. 6, 2005) New Level-1 armored Humvees roll off the USNS Altair cargo ship. The ship made a special trip to Charleston, S.C., to pick up 135 of the trucks, said Phillip Milam, 3rd officer for the Altair. The Humvees, which have armor incorporated into nearly every aspect of their construction, are headed to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, where they will be distributed to units participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
