MOUNT BARTLE FRERE, Australia – U.S. Army Ranger Staff Sgt. Dylan Arnall shares the serene sight of the sun rising at the summit of Queensland’s highest peak with his family during Exercise Kowari 2017 Aug. 29, 2017. U.S. Marines and soldiers, along with soldiers from the Australian Army and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, motivated each other to overcome the 1,622 meter climb through adverse rainforest terrain. Kowari is an annual adventure training activity held in Australia to reinforce trilateral military relationships, trust and co-operation between Australia, China and the United States.
