Ben Sessoms Jr. and Richard Bell Jr. sit in the home of Bell Aug. 24. Sessoms, Bell's great nephew, discovered Bell had not been presented his medals for service during World War II. Contacting Congressman Dave Brat, Sessoms initiated a year-long effort to get Bell his medals. They were presented by Brat and Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Drushal, Chief of Transportation, to the 99-year-old Aug. 26 at a family reunion event in Henrico County.
