FORT HOOD, Texas — Air Force joint terminal attack controllers with the 9th Air Support Operations Squadron conduct final checks and adjustments to their gear while flying in an Army CH-47 Chinook cargo helicopter to their objective on Sept. 14, 2017, during a joint air assault exercise with Army AH-64 Apaches attack helicopters. The joint exercise allowed the JTACs and Army Apache pilots to practice fighting together on a dynamic battlefield where Fort Hood troops provided opposing forces role players.
