FORT HOOD, Texas — Air Force joint terminal attack controllers with the 9th Air Support Operations Squadron deploy from an Army CH-47 Chinook onto a landing zone on Fort Hood, Texas, on Sept. 14, 2017, during a joint air assault exercise with Army AH-64 Apaches. The joint exercise allowed the JTACs and Army Apache pilots to practice fighting together on a dynamic battlefield where Fort Hood soldiers provided opposing forces role players.
