170917-N-UX013-192 PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 17, 2017) Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class Kameron Gothe from Beaumont, Texas, cleans the bolt to a .50 caliber machine gun on the fantail of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48). Ashland, part of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
