Mundy III, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command commanding general, discuss multi-purpose canine capabilities during a tour of the Corporal David M. Sonka Multi-Purpose Canine Facility at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 27, 2017. This marks the first time Alford visited MARSOC since assuming his command in early August. The purpose of the visit and tour was to provide the MCI-East commander with a better understanding of MARSOC, its capabilities, employment and training facilities to strengthen command relationships between MARSOC and MCI-East. The introductory visit included a strategic engagement with MARSOC leadership discussing the compound's facilities then progressed into a tour including the Marine Raider Training Center, MARSOC training tank and paraloft.
