Andrew Descrary, Navy Civil Engineering Corps, joined by Wilmington, N.C., native, Electrician's Mate Nuclear 2nd Class Jonathan Toth assigned to Navy Recruiting Station McAllen, briefs and discusses the 15 military leadership traits to students attending Student Leadership Day at the 2017 Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology Week (HESTEC) held on the campus of the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley. HESTEC is a nationally recognized model for promoting STEM careers to students of all ages. Now in its 16th year, the program has been recognized as a “Bright Spot in Hispanic Education” by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics.
